Bend-La Pine Schools will welcome its students and families to join them for the third annual Life & Career Readiness Night, held on Thursday, April 30 at Caldera High School from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“The Life and Career Readiness Night is the highest in attendance district event of the year,” said Project Manager Jack Strycharz. “It’s an incredible display of opportunities across every field for high schoolers who might not know what they want to do after high school yet.”
The event welcomes vendors to host booths and connect with students across the district who are interested in what they have to offer. A rising number of students don’t know their plans after graduation, and are left stranded when senior year comes around.
“It is highly important to have at least an idea of your options post-high school,” Strycharz continued. “This event does just that.”
This is the third year that the district has hosted this event. With launching the Life and Career Readiness night, students can explore a variety of ideas of what future pathways look like.
“Supporting our students through this event is a great way to promote success,” said Strycharz.
This year, there will be two MacBooks raffled off to upperclassmen in the district, as well as other prizes, baskets and interactive activities, which further encourages a multitude of families to attend.
Post-high school pathway representatives from universities, military, trade schools, internships, volunteer organizations and summer jobs all jumbled in one gym makes the Life and Career Readiness Night one not to miss.
