Starting Monday, March 30 at 8 a.m., many Summit seniors will be seen carrying water guns and wearing floaties. No, this isn’t some random spirit week, but a war game for our graduating class. Its name: senior assassin.
Senior assassin has been a tradition for high school seniors since the 1980s and as the class of 2026 enters their final months at Summit, the game continues. This year, it’s led by seniors Wills Pinaire and Esi Voelz, who are excited to take on the challenge.
Game Rules
The Splashin app assigns each player a target for the week. From there, each player’s job is simple: Find them, squirt them and they are out. Keep in mind, each player is both an assassin and a target. Players have each other’s location so everyone is under surveillance.
This year’s full rules haven’t been released yet, but here are some general rules.
- No tackling or harming people.
- Manual water guns only.
- No squirting in safe zones, except on purge days, where everyone is a target.
- You must have video proof that you eliminated your target.
- You cannot enter someone’s house without permission from a resident.
- If you eliminate someone, you inherit their target.
The winner is the last one standing. The game goes until graduation.
Immunity
To avoid elimination, players must wear an immunity item such as a pair of swim goggles on the forehead, or a swim floatie below the elbow. Outside of purges, these items protect players from their predators, unless they are removed in an attack.
How to Join
Pinaire stated that he’s planning to have the rules set up by the end of break. To join, seniors should follow the Instagram account, @summitseniorassassin2026, download the Splashin app and put in the code from Instagram. The admission fee is $10 and the winner receives most of the ticket sales, which is estimated to be around $2,000. Seniors can also contact Voelz or Pinaire with questions.
“I promise it’s all developing, but throughout the next week or two, it’ll be like set in stone and we’ll get going on Monday, March 30 at 8 a.m.,” said Pinaire.
