School is Out: Thanksgiving break is now a day away, giving Summit a final jolt of energy and finally fulfilling what felt like the false promise of a break. The school is creeping into the holiday season, fueled by leftover motivation and whatever form of caffeine is nearest.  As we persist towards Saturday, there is a mutual understanding that we are all just one more to-do list item away from collapsing into a post-feast fog.

This wave of success in local and state elections decorated headlines with a noticeable surge of optimism. Women across the nation are stepping into roles they have historically never held, a steady progress that feels long overdue. 

Persistant Pikas: Pikas, the miniature mountain mammals known for their chew toy-like squeaks, are making a quiet return to the Cascades after being labeled as locally endangered. Most recent population studies show numbers beginning to climb as the baseball-sized creatures begin to inhabit their rocky slopes yet again.
