Adding Measure 112 to the Oregon constitution

Adding Measure 112 into the Oregon constitution, would remove the act of unpaid prisoner labor in jail this 2023 midterm election. Last year Resolution 10, an act to remove the language ‘slavery’ in the 13th amendment was approved. Law enforcement and state government are trying to actively workout ‘modern slavery’ inside prisons and come to a conclusion about the reconstruction of the Abolition of Slavery.  “The measure does not require additional state government revenues or expenditures; however the impact of the measure will depend on potential legal action or changes to inmate work programs” says the voter guide.
