Summit High School is hosting a blood drive on November 17th in the small gym from 8:30 to 3:45. If you are 16 years old you must have a parental permission slip signed in order to donate, if you are older you are able to donate without parental consent. At Irving medical center, Columbia University discovered that regular blood donation is linked to lower blood pressure and lower risk for heart attacks. Along with the health benefits that come with giving blood, one donation can save up to three lives. Oregon has been transporting blood to Florida after hurricane Ian, making blood donations from youth crucial.
