Summit Football beat Crook County 37–7 on Oct. 18 at Crook County. This was their eighth win overall with zero losses, leaving them first in the state for 5A. With one game left in their season, the team hopes to finish undefeated and get ready for playoffs.
Summit’s defense only gave up 70 yards of offense to Crook County, with two interceptions playing a huge part in their success.
”Our team defense was really good all day,” said Head Coach Corben Hyatt.
Offensively, Senior Conrad Dodge was a big part of Summit’s success going forward, with two long catches of 50 yards or more and one touchdown.
“Conrad Dodge played the best game of his career,” said Hyatt.
Summit’s last game in the Intermountain Conference will be played on Oct. 31 at home against Caldera. A win in this game will leave Summit with a perfect 9–0 record going into playoffs. The team hopes to make a good run into the playoffs, potentially winning the state championship.
“Each season we want to win the city championship, win our league and hopefully compete and win a state title,” said Hyatt.
Based on the teams form this season, a state title is definitely achievable for these players. Summit has proved to be an excellent team and should not be underestimated.
