Both of Summit’s Varsity Water Polo teams took the win against Bend High in the Juniper Aquatic Center pool on Sept. 23. For the boys team, the win marked their seven year streak against Bend High. For the girls team, the win meant a comeback from their close loss last year.
Caldera junior and Summit player Mackenzie Scott opened the game with a bang of a goal in the first minute, a hard fought game bringing the Storm girls together in the fourth quarter to accomplish their win with a score of 11-7.
“Our team chemistry shows so much in the pool against other teams because we know how to communicate in the game,” commented Summit junior Cambria Ruiz.
The boys team worked together to keep the Summit versus Bend streak alive, ending with a score of 17-7.
“More people should come watch water polo. There’s no one here,” said Summit junior Gus Stonich, encouraging Storm students to show their support.
The Summit water polo teams fight to keep the Storm spirit alive, and it’s time that Summit students do the same.
