The fiery feud between Blake Lively and Jason Baldoni is taking the media by storm. The two co-stars from the movie “It Ends With Us,” are in a highly spectated ‘he said, she said’ situation. In Dec. 2024, Lively filed a complaint to California’s Civil Rights Department claiming she was a victim of sexual harassment on the set of “It Ends With Us,” by not only co-star Jason Baldoni, but the director of the movie, Jamey Heath, as well. The complaint Lively submitted was obtained and published by the New York Times.
Lively’s claim stated Baldoni had improvised unwanted kissing scenes, discussed his sex life and walked into Lively’s makeup room uninvited while she was undressed and breastfeeding. The claim also stated that Heath had shown Lively a video of his wife naked. Lively’s lawsuit is supported by thousands of pages of text and email exchanges between the two, again, reviewed by New York Times.
This led Baldoni to file a $250 million lawsuit against the New York Times for libel and a $400 million lawsuit against Lively for defamation. Following Jan. 16, Lively sued Baldoni for severe emotional distress and lost wages.
Baldoni claims defamation on the case that Lively wants to bury the negative connotations surrounding her recently with the lawsuit. In response to the allegations, Baldoni states that he only entered Lively’s makeup room after she had texted him an invitation. Additionally, Heath has claimed that the nude video he showed to Lively was a video of his wife giving birth, in context to prepare Lively for a scene in the film where her character delivers a baby.
The statements made by Baldoni defend himself somewhat among the public, but many are keen to see how this will play out in court. Although the date of the trial is still unknown, many are anxiously awaiting the outcome.
