Summit Announces Boys Volleyball
Boys volleyball is coming to Summit! On Jan. 3, Summit revealed the existence of a new boys volleyball club coached by Devin Sares. On the high school level, boys volleyball is much less popular than girls, with only one male athlete competing in high school volleyball for every eight female athletes. Only 22 states in the U.S have sanctioned boys high school volleyball and the OSAA doesn’t have an official high school boys program yet. However, interest in boys volleyball is growing. The establishment of clubs such as the one coming to Summit can encourage greater participation and increased opportunities for male volleyball players in the future.
