Summit Boys Basketball Defeats Bend High, Named Intermountain Conference Champions
On Tuesday, Feb. 21, the Summit Boys varsity basketball team took down Bend High School with a score of 65-56 in a game deciding the champion of the 5A boys basketball Intermountain Conference.
The first few quarters swayed back and forth, at half Summit led by only two points. The Storm held tightly onto this lead throughout most of the second half but the Lava Bears fought hard and saw a few small leads of their own. In the closing minutes of the game, Summit began to pull ahead and never looked back, coming out victorious with an ending score of 65-56.
This Storm win ends the season series with Bend at 2-1, in Summits favor. The Storm’s final game before playoffs will be held at Caldera High School at 7pm on Friday, Feb. 24.
