Summit Girls Basketball Takes Down Cross-town Rivals
The Storm girls basketball were able to win by six against the Bend High Lava Bears
On Monday, Jan. 16, the Summit High School girls varsity basketball team played Bend High in the teams first matchup of the season. On their home court, the Storm were able to win a hard fought game by a margin of 6 points. For the Storm, being ranked number 4 in the OSSA rankings and the Bend Lava Bears being ranked number 26, this was an expected outcome. Throughout the game Summit was ahead, having a lead of three at half time. Not much changed in the second half, the Storm didn’t let up on Bend High for the rest of the game. As the buzzer went off and the game came to an end, Summit was able to celebrate a victory over the Lava Bears after going 0-2 against them last year. The girls next game will again be at home, Thursday Jan. 19 against Caldera.
