Summit Storm Football Claims Their Second State Title

On Friday, Nov. 25, in Oregon’s high school football 5A state championship game, the Summit Boys Varsity football team defeated Wilsonville High School, the final score was 35-28. This was the second meeting between these two teams in the season, the previous one, on Sep. 24, had a similar outcome with Summit winning 33-21. Wilsonville came out explosive, taking a quick 13-0 lead in the first quarter. However, the Storm clawed back, tying the game at 21 a piece by halftime. The second half saw Summit coming out strong, scoring twice and taking a 14 point lead, 35-21. Wilsonville did not go away without a fight, quickly answering with their own touchdown, cutting the score to 35-28. Summit was able to steadily maintain this lead and came out victorious. With the win, the Storm earned themselves the title of Oregon 5A State Champions. This is Summit football’s second state title, the last one in 2015. This has been an amazing season with many record breaking performances and entertaining moments. Special thanks to our seniors.
