On Tuesday, May 17, the Summit Boys Varsity Golf Team had a historical showing in the Oregon 6A Boys state golf tournament, where they earned the state championship title. Shattering records at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, the Storm were ahead after day one with a significant 22 point lead. After the second and final day, Summit maintained their impressive lead when they shot 13 under, ending the tournament with a 39 point lead. Summit set an all-time Oregon school record by shooting -13 in one day, along with a historic all-time 6A state record when they shot -16 through both days. Summit Junior, Brody Grieb, had a stand out performance, shooting 65 on the first day and 69 on the second. With yet another state championship performance for our Storm, it has undoubtedly been an impressive year for Summit athletes.
